Description

Every support and resistance tool has the same temptation: draw a level because a POC, a high volume node, a swing or a big imbalance happened there. OFS VerumMTF refuses the temptation twice.

First refusal: place is not direction

The indicator separates the QUALITY OF THE PLACE from the QUALITY OF THE CURRENT REACTION. Historical profiles and structure only say where the market has a reason to react - node edges (the centre of a node is a magnet, not a level), value area edges, the boundary between two distributions, an abandoned POC, the origin of an impulse that broke structure, a swept and reclaimed level, and places that already produced a real reaction. When at least two independent evidence groups meet at a similar price and the Location Score reaches its threshold, a NEUTRAL candidate appears. Grey. No direction. Nothing has been promised yet.

Second refusal: volume is not defence

Direction is earned only by a test. When price enters the candidate from above, the indicator watches a precise sequence: aggressive selling at least at its percentile, penetration that stays small relative to the zone width, a return over the zone core, a measured move away within a few bars, and at least one more bar that holds. The key measurement is FLOW EFFICIENCY - the price result per unit of aggression. Heavy selling that produces almost no downward progress is a failed attack, and a failed attack is what makes a support real. The same logic mirrored makes resistance.

Four different endings

A touch of a zone can end four different ways and the indicator refuses to blur them. Penetration: price dips in and nothing is proven - the zone waits. Rejection: price returns over the core and leaves - the zone earns Reaction Score and its direction. Acceptance: price stays inside, volume builds and short-term value moves in - the zone stops being support or resistance at all and becomes neutral accepted value. Breakout: an effective traverse with closes beyond the far edge - the zone is broken. A broken zone does not flip automatically: only acceptance beyond it, a failed return over the core and a fresh rejection from the other side turn the old support into confirmed resistance.

Three layers with three different jobs

The macro layer (a composite of finished whole sessions) remembers where the market built its distributions. The session layer (previous session and the developing profile) says whether that memory is relevant today. The execution layer (footprint aggression and efficiency) is the only judge of the current test. Zones supported by more than one layer carry an MTF 2x or MTF 3x badge, and the panel honestly reports how many whole sessions the macro really holds - it never pretends.

Reading the chart

A zone label reads like a verdict: S 84 (L34+R50) | M+S MTF 2x - 1 test - confirmed. Fill intensity carries the Reaction Score, the border carries the state, a thin core line marks the most important price inside the zone, and NEW marks a zone that has never been tested - the first touch tends to give the cleanest reaction. The chart stays readable by design: only the nearest zones above and below price are drawn, strong zones are always kept, and accepted or broken history is hidden until you ask for it.

Everything is a setting - 118 of them in 14 groups, and not one number from the concept manual is hard-coded. The four groups marked with a star are the everyday ones; everything else ships at the manual's defaults. Alerts (approach, confirmation, weakening, acceptance, break, break retest, flip, first test) are all off by default and never fire from history.

Installation guide
1. Purchase activates the indicator on your ATAS account e-mail. In ATAS open the indicator catalogue and install OFS VerumMTF, or unpack the ZIP into %APPDATA%\ATAS\Indicators for the classic platform and %APPDATA%\ATAS X\Indicators for ATAS X.
2. Add the indicator to a chart that carries cluster (footprint) data. Any tick, volume or time chart works as long as the data feed delivers bid and ask per price.
3. Open the settings, group 01 - License, and paste the license key from your orderflowsmith.com account.
4. Optional: switch on 12 - Context Panel to see the state in words, and 13 - Outputs to write every zone state change to a CSV file.
5. The groups marked with a star (02, 10, 11, 12) are the everyday ones. Everything else ships at the manual's defaults and can stay untouched.

1.1.13 - THE UPDATE CARD NOW TELLS YOU WHAT IS NEW.

The centred new-version card - product name, your version and the new one, a Close button - now also shows a short description of what each release brings. Identical in every OFS indicator.

1.1.12 - ALERTS ACTUALLY FIRE NOW, THEY LEAVE WITH THE CALCULATION, AND THE UI SITS ABOVE THE CANDLES.

Every alert was gated on a hidden platform property that defaults to off and has no visible switch - so no alert (and no Telegram message) ever left, whatever you enabled. The gate now uses this indicator's own Enable Alerts / Enable Telegram switches, as it always should have.

Alerts are also delivered as part of the calculation instead of the drawing pass: a covered or minimised chart window used to hold them in a queue until the next repaint.

The panel, the notices and the new-version card are drawn in the top layer now, so the forming candle can no longer paint over them - and the new-version card shows in every state: without a licence, without data and on an empty chart alike.

Hardening: a data feed that delivers no cluster (footprint) data no longer causes an error in the calculation path - the bar is processed without per-price levels instead of failing.

1.1.11 - NEW UPDATE CARD, CENTRED AND WITH DIRECT LINKS.

The card that appears when a newer version is available has been redesigned, identically for every OFS indicator. It now sits exactly in the centre of the chart, shows each product with its current and new version, recommends updating, and carries clearly visible buttons: an Info button that opens the product's page on orderflowsmith.com directly, a Close button at the bottom and the familiar cross in the corner. When several OFS indicators on one chart have updates at once, they all share the single card - one line and one Info button each.

1.1.10 - ZONES SIT EXACTLY ON THEIR PRICES.

Every zone was drawn half a price row below the prices it represents - a leftover half-row correction from an old version, the same one found in Iceberg Detector. The chart already centres a price inside its row, so the extra correction pushed the whole zone past the centre; at a deep zoom the offset was clearly visible. Zone edges now sit exactly on the centre of their price levels at any zoom.

1.1.9 - ALERT SOUND IS A LIST WITH A PLAY BUTTON.

The alert sound used to be a text field with "alert1" typed into it. If you did not already know what the sound files are called, there was no way to find out from inside the indicator, and a typo produced silence rather than an error. It is now the platform's own sound picker: a drop-down of the installed sounds with a small play button beside it, so you can hear a sound before you settle on it. It is the same control ATAS uses in its own indicators.

Because the list comes from the platform rather than from us, it also shows sounds you added yourself - drop a .wav into the platform's Sounds folder and it appears.

A sound you had chosen before is kept.


1.1.7 - THE UPDATE CARD'S CLOSE BUTTON IS A REAL BUTTON - a framed, highlighted square instead of a faint cross, comfortably clickable.

1.1.6 - THE PANEL FOOTER NO LONGER SHOWS YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS. It read Licensed to: your@address - expires <date>, so anyone you sent a screenshot to could read who the license belongs to. It now reads v1.1.6 - license OK: version first, then the state of the license and nothing else, the same in every OFS indicator. Who the license belongs to stays in the settings, where only you see it.

1.1.5 - A NEW VERSION NOTICE. Once a day the indicator asks orderflowsmith.com whether a newer version has been released and, if so, shows a small card on the chart with what the new version brings you.

It sends nothing at all - no license key, no product name, not a single parameter - so the request cannot tell anyone what you use, and one request covers every OFS indicator on the chart. The answer is signed with the same key as your license, so nothing else can put text on your chart. It never blocks anything and it stays silent when there is no connection.

There is one card per chart, not one per indicator, and it lists every product that has an update. Close it and it will not come back until the next release. It can be switched off in Settings under 01 License.

1.1.4 - LICENCE GATE ON NOTIFICATIONS. Platform alerts and Telegram messages now require a valid key, exactly like the drawing on the chart does. The gate sits in the place where a notification is actually sent, not at the caller, so it cannot be bypassed by a new call site. Any queued notifications are discarded while the key is missing, so they do not pile up and all fire at once the moment a key is entered.

0.1.3 - session-based computation and a rendering fix straight from the ATAS documentation. The window is no longer a number of bars: the CURRENT session always computes whole, from its own start to the current candle, and the Past Sessions setting adds finished sessions before it one by one (they also feed the macro composite). A window can therefore never start in the middle of a session - profiles, value areas and nodes are never computed from a torn piece, which is what made levels look wrong under the old bar cap. And the platform stops stuttering: per the ATAS drawing documentation the Historical layer is repainted automatically on every new candle, zoom and chart move, so the forced 150 ms redraw from 0.1.2 - a full layer repaint seven times a second - was pointless and has been removed; zones are static between candles.

0.1.2 - drawing no longer drops out. The zones are painted into a single drawing layer that the platform does not repaint on its own during live ticks, so a reined-in redraw now keeps them on screen (the same fix ValueFlow needed); and the zone snapshot survives the full recalculation the platform runs on every settings change, so the chart is never blank for seconds while the engine recomputes - the old zones simply stay until the new ones replace them.

0.1.1 - the first contact with a real chart fixed three things at once. Loading was extremely slow and could freeze the platform: the automatic history extension could fall back to computing the whole chart, and the reaction memory grew without bound while every refresh scanned zones against all of it - the memory is now capped and deduplicated, and the extension is a separate switch, off by default, so the bar cap is authoritative and predictable. And no zones ever appeared: evidence groups were required to meet at identical ticks, which never happens on a real chart - evidence now attaches to any zone within a configurable reach (Evidence Reach, ATR-scaled), because the manual says a SIMILAR price, not the same tick. Engine is 3.4x faster per bar.

0.1.0 - first release. Complete engine separated from the platform with 39 tests: profile analysis with POC, value area, HVN edges and LVN boundaries, abandoned POC tracking, ATR ZigZag with displacement and sweep-reclaim, reaction memory, per-bar aggression and flow-efficiency percentiles, two-stage scoring (Location 0-40 + Reaction 0-60), the full test sequence with four distinct outcomes (penetration, rejection, acceptance, breakout), zone weakening, flip only after acceptance plus failed return plus fresh rejection, and MTF layer merging without double counting. 117 settings in 14 groups with the everyday ones starred; panel, alerts and diagnostics off by default; alerts fire only on the newest closed bar and survive recalculation without repeating.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a normal support and resistance indicator?
A normal one draws a level because something happened at that price. VerumMTF first builds a neutral candidate from at least two independent groups of place evidence, and only the market's measured reaction to a real test decides whether it becomes support, resistance, accepted value or a broken area. Place quality and reaction quality are two separate scores.
What is flow efficiency and why does it matter?
It is the price result per unit of aggressive volume. A thousand contracts of selling that move price two ticks is a failed attack - somebody absorbed it - and that failure is the strongest evidence of a defended zone. The same thousand contracts that drive price straight through the zone is an effective breakout. Volume alone cannot tell those two apart; efficiency can.
What does Accepted mean?
Price entered the zone and stayed: time passed, volume built, and short-term value moved inside. The market did not reject the price - it adopted it. Such a zone stops being support or resistance entirely and is drawn as neutral accepted value. Most tools keep painting it green or red; this one refuses.
Does it repaint?
No. The engine processes a bar only after the next one opens, never looks at future bars, and confirmed states never change retroactively. Reloading the chart on the same history produces the same zones, and a parity tool can compare a live run against a reload from the diagnostic log.
What do the two numbers in the label mean?
S 84 (L34+R50) means total score 84 = Location 34 (how good the place is: node edges, value area edges, structure origin, reaction memory, layer agreement) plus Reaction 50 (how good the market's answer was: failed aggression, rejection, distance, continuation). A great place with no reaction stays a grey candidate.
What does the MTF 2x badge mean?
The zone is supported by more than one layer - macro (finished sessions composite), session (previous and developing profile) and execution (footprint memory). Overlapping zones from different layers merge into one MTF zone, so the same evidence is never counted twice.
Why do I see only a few zones?
By design. Only the nearest active zones above and below price are drawn (three by default per side), strong zones are always kept, and accepted or broken history is hidden until you switch it on. The chart is meant to be read in seconds.
Why does the panel say Macro 3/5 sessions?
Because the chart only holds three finished whole sessions while the setting asks for five. A torn first session is never counted as a whole one. The indicator uses what really exists and says so.
Do the alerts fire from history?
No. Every alert is off by default, fires only for the newest closed bar, and remembers what it already announced even across the full recalculation the platform runs on every settings change.
